Who we are?

Positive Pathways was developed by Coral Romain, who works with a wide range of experienced SEND specialists and other professionals. All those involved in Positive Pathways are committed to working collaboratively, placing the young person and their support network at the centre of all they do.

They are able to use considerable and specific experience and knowledge to help support children, young people, educational settings and families provide the bestpossible environments for young people in which they can flourish.

Coral has worked within the Special Needs sector for more than 30 years with a broad range of young people with additional needs.

She has worked originally as a Teacher and Senior Leader – Principal, Headteacher, Director of Integrated Services for the last 20 years and has been working as a Specialist Consultant for the past 10 years.

Coral is a qualified Behaviour Specialist, with a further background in Psychology. Her focus is upon the use of Positive Psychology in learning and living – and her specialism is in ‘Positive Behaviour Support’. This range of experiences has led to her commitment to support schools, colleges, families and other services to improve the quality of intervention, support and strategies to ensure that they retain the needs of the young person at the centre of all they do. That by focusing authentically on quality and proactive intervention and support – they are better able to ensure the best outcomes, for each young person – and indeed for organisations and families.
Her work has included working with young people between the age of 3 and 25, both in educational settings, at school, and in the community. She is committed to supporting young people and their families to identify needs effectively and work with support services / schools and colleges to develop integrated and holistic learning programmes for young people that have a real impact on their future lives – across difficult transitions. Her vision is to support children and young people to flourish and develop the skills they need to become resilient as they grow.
